Rotation Programs & TPD Settings

The watch winder offers a fixed TPD: 2880 TPD (Turns Per Day). It has 4 rotation modes: Clockwise (CW), Counter-Clockwise (CCW), Bi-Directional rotation, or Non-committentBi-Directional rotation, allowing you to match the requirements of a wide range of automatic watches.

Clockwise (CW) Mode

The watch winder will rotate clockwise under Clockwise Mode. It will rotate for 2 minutes, then stop for 6 minutes. and rotate 8 circles per minute, so 2880 circles in 24 hours.

Counter-Clockwise (CCW) Mode

This watch winder will rotate clockwise under the counter-clockwise mode. It will rotate for 2 minutes, then stop for 6 minutes. and rotate 8 circles per minute, so 2880 circles in 24 hours.

Bi-Directional Mode

The watch winder operates in alternating clockwise and counterclockwise rotations. It rotates clockwise for 2 minutes, then stops for 6 minutes, followed by a counterclockwise rotation for 2 minutes, and then pauses for another 6 minutes. This cycle repeats continuously. The winder completes 8 rotations per minute, resulting in a total of 2,880 rotations over a 24‑hour period.

Non-intermittent Bi-Directional Mode

In this mode, the winder rotates clockwise for 5 minutes and counterclockwise for 5 minutes, repeating this cycle for 3 hours, then rests for 9 hours. It delivers 2,880 rotations per 24 hours (1,440 each direction). Ideal for regular routines and powerful enough for complex movements like the 7750.

Choosing the Right Setting

For optimal performance, we recommend following the rotation direction specified by your watch manufacturer. If that information is unavailable, the Non-intermittent Bi-Directional Mode is a worry‑free choice for most automatic watches. It effectively resolves many winding issues and works reliably with the vast majority of modern movements.

Safe for Automatic Watches

A common concern among collectors is whether a watch winder can damage a mechanical watch. The answer is no. Modern automatic watches are designed to regulate the energy stored in the mainspring, preventing damage from normal winding activity. A watch winder simply simulates the natural motion of daily wear and will not harm a properly functioning movement.

Low-Magnetic Motor Technology

Our watch winders use low-magnetic precision motors combined with a magnetic-isolation design. The motor assembly is positioned at a safe distance from the watches, helping minimize magnetic exposure while providing reliable and quiet operation.

If Your Watch Is Not Fully Wound

If a watch is not maintaining sufficient power reserve, the cause may be related to movement characteristics, winding direction, TPD settings, or the condition of the movement itself. In many cases, the watch winder is not the primary cause. Please refer to our FAQ section for troubleshooting guidance.

Starting a Stopped Watch

A watch winder is designed to maintain a running automatic watch, not to rapidly build a full power reserve from a completely stopped condition. If your watch has stopped, we recommend manually winding it several turns before placing it into the winder. Once an initial power reserve has been established, the watch winder can keep the watch running and ready to wear.

Product Questions

Yes. For stable performance, we recommend using a 20,000mAh or higher capacity power bank along with our compatible cable converter.

No. This model is not designed for stacking. However, we do offer stackable watch winder models that are specifically built for modular setups.

No. The watch winder operates at under 25dB, making it quiet enough for use in bedrooms or beside the bed.

Fit depends on the watch case, bracelet or strap, and the pillow dimensions supplied with the specific winder. Compare your watch and wrist measurements with the product specifications, and contact support@galosom.com if you need help before ordering.

Most modern automatic watches use a mechanism designed to reduce traditional mainspring overwinding, but winding requirements vary by movement. Use the watch manufacturer's guidance and select an appropriate TPD and direction rather than assuming one setting is suitable for every watch.

Motor type varies by product model. Refer to the specifications on the individual product page for the motor configuration and control features included with that model. Contact support if a specification needs clarification before purchase.

TPD and winding direction vary by movement. Start with the watch or movement manufacturer's recommendation, then use the lowest suitable setting that keeps the watch running reliably. Contact support if you need help interpreting the available settings.

Operating sound varies by model, settings, placement, room acoustics, and distance. Review the specifications for the individual product and place the winder on a stable surface. Contact support before purchase if low-noise operation is important for a bedroom or other quiet space.

Galosom products include an 18-Month Limited Warranty. Manufacturing defects reported within the first 30 days are prioritized for replacement when practical; see the Warranty Policy for complete terms.
